Testing Dublin

In this blog, we are sharing our thoughts about Dublin (Ireland, not Ohio). We have the following in common: we are interested in good food, and like to enjoy it in good company!

The testing will not be limited to food only. For example, we are also planning to see a Gaelic Football game together.

So this is what we have learned in Dublin!

Remark: The ratings are from 1 (bad) to 6 (excellent).

Queen of Tarts

Dame Street, Dublin 2, Tel:01 6707499
Also at City Hall, Tel: 01 6722925

Participants: Ana, Marta, Roland, Uli, Margarida, Florian, Julia

Rating
  • Food: 4.8/6
  • Drink: 3.9/6
  • Toilet: 3/6
  • Ambience: 4.4/6

"The Queen of hearts, she made some tarts
all on a summer's day.
The knave of hearts, he ate those tarts
and took them quite away"
Preface by Florian - although I think the original author was another guy ;-)

Food: All in all quite good!
Apple Strawberry Crumble: "really fruity, sour, juicy - good for fruit lovers."
Carrot cake "could be better, too much cinnamonpowder in the glaze. Big nuts in the cake are tasteful."
Queen of Chocolate Gateau was "very sumptuous, but would be even better with a little bit more chocolate".

Drink: medium
Café au Lait: "milk was too hot, which spoils the taste of the coffee. Tapwater was good though (with mint and lime)."

Atmosphere: very cozy
"Has old-world feel to it, quiet, but too cramped, would have needed more elbow space to lift my fork."
"Maybe too small place, nice if you're 2 people. A little bit more complicated if you're 7 people, but we managed to do it - we did it :-)"

Remarks
Takeaway available!
We would like to come back, for another lazy Sunday afternoon.
